WHY SOLAR COSTS LESS THAN YOU THINK

Solar isn’t a luxury.
It’s a smart way to save.

Most people guess solar costs a fortune.
Here’s what actually happens to your money.

01

It pays for itself.

On our estimates, a typical Cebu home gets its money back in 2–3 years through lower bills. After that, the savings are yours, year after year.

02

Start small. Grow later.

Begin with panels and a battery-ready inverter, the lowest-cost setup. Add a battery when your budget allows; nothing gets thrown away.

03

Every peso, upfront.

Your estimate lists every panel, the inverter, mounting and installation with its price. Hold it next to any other quote and compare line by line.

THE BROWNOUT PROBLEM ISN’T GOING AWAY

Cebu’s grid is running
out of room.

The Visayas grid hit red alert again and again in 2026.
The government says relief is still years away.

MAY 2026

Three days of rotating brownouts.

A Visayas grid red alert forced Visayan Electric to cut power across Metro Cebu in one-hour rotations to keep the grid from collapsing.

Source: BusinessMirror
AUG 2026

Nearly 300 MW short.

Another red alert left the grid almost 300 MW below peak demand. Cebu City had rotating brownouts, and traffic lights went dark downtown.

OCT 2026

No real fix until 2028.

The Energy Secretary warned that Visayas shortages will continue through 2027, with new power plants only arriving from 2028.

Don’t wait for the next red alert.

Stopgap diesel power could also push electricity rates higher, so every month of solar savings counts. A battery keeps your fridge, fans, lights and Wi-Fi running when the grid can’t.

HOW WE KEEP SOLAR AFFORDABLE

Good equipment.
Honest prices.

Too many Cebu families believe solar is out of reach. It isn’t. Cheap Solar Cebu designs, installs and supports solar for Cebu homes and small businesses, and shows you the price before you ever talk to us.

Cheap doesn’t mean low quality. We use Deye hybrid inverters, N-type TOPCon panels and LiFePO4 batteries, sized to what your home actually uses, so you never pay for capacity you don’t need.

Right-sized, not upsoldYour system is sized from your own bill and appliances. Bigger isn’t always better, and it’s never cheaper.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS ABOUT COST

Is solar really
affordable?

For more homes than you’d think.
Here are the details.

See my price
01Isn’t solar only for rich families?

No. A complete starter system for a Cebu home starts from about ₱110,000, installed. Because it lowers your electricity bill every month, it pays for itself: on our estimates, a typical home gets its money back in 2–3 years. After that, the savings are yours. The calculator shows your own numbers in 30 seconds.

02How much does a solar system cost?

It depends on how many panels you need, the inverter, whether you add batteries, and your roof. As a guide: a home with a ₱5,000 monthly bill needs about 2.5 kWp, around ₱110,000–₱129,000 installed. A ₱12,000 bill needs about 5.6 kWp, around ₱201,000–₱236,000. Use the calculator for an itemized estimate; a site assessment confirms the final price.

03How do you keep the price down?

We size your system to your actual electricity use instead of upselling, start you without a battery if saving money is your goal, and publish our prices so you can compare. The equipment is widely used in the Philippines: Deye hybrid inverters, N-type TOPCon panels and LiFePO4 batteries.

04What’s included in the price?

Panels, a hybrid inverter, any batteries you choose, mounting, cabling, breakers and surge protection, installation, permits and net-metering paperwork. Each item is listed with its price in your estimate.

05Will brownouts in Cebu get better soon?

Not soon, according to the Department of Energy. After repeated Visayas grid red alerts in 2026, the Energy Secretary said in October 2026 that shortages are expected through 2027, with new baseload plants arriving from 2028. Temporary power barges should reduce, not eliminate, red alerts, and heavy diesel use could raise electricity rates. Typhoons add to the risk: five days after Typhoon Tino in November 2025, more than 7% of Visayan Electric customers were still without power.

06Do I need a battery?

Not to save money: solar without a battery is the cheapest way to cut your daytime bill. But with brownouts expected to continue through 2027, a battery is what keeps your essentials running when the grid goes down. Add one now if you want backup during brownouts or want to use solar power at night. Our hybrid inverters let you add one later, when your budget allows.

07Is my home suitable for solar?

A roof with good daylight, enough usable space, and a sound structure is a good starting point. Orientation, shade, roof material, and your electricity use all matter. Your site assessment checks these before a system and final price are confirmed. For an apartment or shared roof, permission from the owner or building association is needed.

08Will solar keep my home running during a brownout?

Solar panels alone generally switch off when the grid fails. Backup requires a compatible hybrid inverter, a charged battery, and properly designed backup circuits. We size that setup around the essentials you want to keep running; large appliances may need additional capacity.

09How does net metering work?

With an approved net-metering connection, eligible electricity exported to the grid earns credits through your utility. Export credits differ from the full retail electricity rate. The advisor shows its assumed export value, and the final proposal should confirm the requirements and applicable credit with your utility.

010Which areas do you serve?

We focus on homes and small businesses in Cebu, including Cebu City, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Talisay, Consolacion, Liloan, Minglanilla, and Cordova. Share your location when requesting a site assessment so we can confirm availability for your property.
